About Tod Mell

"Family is not an important thing.  It is everything."
-Michael J. Fox

Why this blog?

Hi, I am Tod J Mell, a devoted husband, proud father of two incredible boys, and someone who’s passionate about family and sharing the good in life. Our family is rooted in strong values, and we do our best to live by the “Golden Rule,” treating others the way we’d like to be treated.

Our family has shared countless unforgettable adventures, such as climbing to the top of the Eiffel Tower, feeding monkeys in Central America, exploring ancient ruins in Mexico, surfing the waves of Waikiki, and road-tripping across the U.S. in our 34-foot RV. Not long ago, we were even chosen to star in a TV commercial and appear on billboards promoting family values.  This was an incredible honor and the ultimate compliment to that represents who we are together.

Kindness and service are values we each hold close to our hearts. We're always looking for meaningful ways to make a positive impact—whether that’s volunteering at nursing homes or food banks, lending a hand at charity events, or simply finding everyday moments to help others.

Every day, I thank God for the life we share and the family we’ve become. While it might be easy to call it luck, the truth is, it’s been shaped by dedication, creativity, and a strong sense of values. It’s not chance that defines our journey, it’s the effort we put in and the principles we live by.

The goal of this blog isn’t to sell you on my personal beliefs about family. I truly believe every family is unique and should define their own path to happiness and success. I’m simply here to share some ideas and insights that have worked well for us.

I am so glad you are here.

I have dedicated over 20 years to working in education.  My wife has dedicated more than 30 years.  I’ve spent over 20 years in education, and my wife has been dedicated to the field for more than 30. For me, teaching was always more than a career, it was a way to make a lasting and positive difference in the lives of others. I chose the education path to inspire, guide, and support others, leading by example and helping others realize their full potential. Each day, I would strive strive to be a positive influence and create a meaningful impact on the future.  Below is a short example of my work:
